Today we’re delivering a message to all our Colorado representatives: it’s time to heed the will of the voters by supporting jobs, not cuts in the upcoming “lame duck” Congress. We’re rallying at noon outside Senator Michael Bennet’s office downtown Denver, followed by a second rally outside of Mike Coffman’s office at 2 p.m.
On Election Day, 99% voters played a key role in persuading other Coloradans to reject the “You’re On Your Own” Republican philosophy that guts vitals services and provides tax breaks to the wealthy — and to instead vote to rebuild the middle class, invest in good jobs and protect vital services like Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.
Congress faces serious choices before the end of the year. Will it make disastrous cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, childcare, special education and other vital public services that our communities rely on or will it take an approach that puts job creation first?
We’ve got the answer: job creation first!
